Success for Gravesham Borough Council's Core Strategy Plan

The Government’s Planning Inspector has declared Gravesham’s Local Plan Core Strategy sound following public hearings in September last year and April this year.

The announcement this week means that the council can take future planning decisions based on the strategy which earmarks areas for both development and protection over the next 14 years.

Although the council is committed to a review of the green belt boundaries, the inspector’s final report stresses that “a wholesale release of Green Belt” land is not likely to be necessary.
